Mailei Bennett is the owner and head trainer at the Riding Academy of Orange County. She has over 20 years of experience teaching and developing horse riding programs throughout California. In 1990, she expanded the USDA Cooperative Extension horse project to include competitive riding (both English and Western) and in 1998 coordinated one of the largest educational/riding youth contests in the State of California. Through the guidance of the 32nd Agricultural District, Newport Mesa Unified School District and the City of Costa Mesa Recreation Department, she was instrumental in coordinating a non-traditional after school program which incorporated horses, horticultural and nutrition. (This program received top honors from the State of California Park & Recreation Association for its creative approach in learning.)

In 2008, ten of her horses were selected for the ISHA National Championships held at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank. Under her leadership, her students have excelled in the AQHA, APHA, USEF Hunter/Jumper and Welsh divisions.

Awards and achievements are just one measure of a successful program. We strive to provide the balance between hard work, education and preparation.
